A set of knowledge, skills, and social competence acquired in the learning process.

The definition refers to the definition included in the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2008 on the establishment of the European Qualifications Framework.

With reference to EQF and PQF the terms “efekty uczenia się/kształcenia” (learning outcomes) and “kompetencje” (competences) may be used interchangeably.

In the Law on Higher Education of April 2011, learning outcomes are defined in a similar way as a set of knowledge, skills and social competence acquired by a learner in the process of learning.
